Atlanta Braves The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Braves are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League. From 1997 to the present, the Braves have played in Turner Field. The Braves name originates from the term for a Native American warrior. They are nicknamed the Bravos, and America's Team, the latter a reference to the team's games being broadcast on the nationally available TBS until the 2008 season, gaining a wide fanbase. From 1991-2005, the Braves were one of the most successful franchises in baseball, winning their division title an unprecedented 14 consecutive times in that period (omitting the strike-shortened 1994 season in which there were no official division champions). The Braves advanced to the World Series five times in the 1990s, winning the title in 1995, and earning the moniker the Team of the '90s. In their history, the Braves have won 16 divisional titles, nine National League pennants.

Atlanta Braves Team Report (USA Today) Sure, it's fun to write about the Braves installing netting at their spring training ballpark to protect players' cars in the right field parking lot from the bombs launched by right field prospect Jason Heyward. ANALYSIS; In Vazquez, Yankees Get Pitcher Who Got Away In the winter after the 2007 season, the Yankees could have acquired Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins for Melky Cabrera, Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy and Jeff Marquez. Two years after turning down that offer, the Yankees are overjoyed with their decision. On Tuesday, they sent Cabrera to the Atlanta Braves in a deal for Javier Vazquez, a durable right-hander who stabilizes their starting rotation. In 1-1 Series, Agent Is 2-0 Nobody has had a better World Series so far than a former pitcher with a 5.55 earned run average in his only season as a Montreal Expos farmhand.
